"I particularly enjoy making functional work because these pieces are meant to be handled and interacted with - having the potential to become an intimate part of someone’s day to day life. It is my belief that a well-made cup or bowl can transform something as seemingly mundane as a simple meal or coffee break into something more ritual and meaningful." - Hunter Smith
Our local artist in residence, Hunter Smith, handcrafts unique pieces of pottery displayed within our studio. Some of the items he creates include mugs, bowls, and cups. There is only one teapot (as seen in the gallery below) on display which makes this a very special piece. Hunter creates new pieces on a continual basis, so drop by the studio to see what's new on display, and give him a follow on Instagram @smith_h32.
Each piece of pottery can either be purchased as a set for a discounted price or as individual pieces- woohoo! Stop by our studio location at 300 Greensboro St. to view Hunter's work, interact with it, and speak with our office coordinator about purchasing your favorite set of mugs or cups.
We thank you for supporting local artists!
