Blair Snively, DVM, Veterinary Medicine, TCVM, Veterinary Acupuncture
Dr. Blair Snively grew up in Maryland and is a life-long horseman and animal lover. She was often found, even as young as age four, playing “vet” with her ponies and pets. Before veterinary school, Dr. Snively taught high school AG science, managed two horse farms, and coached the University of Maryland IHSA Equestrian Team. After graduating from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she spent three years as a small animal practitioner in Maryland. Called to offer a mobile, more personalized client/patient/doctor experience, Dr. Snively started Twelve Oaks Veterinary Services in 2018. The family returned to Starkville in the spring of 2019 and Twelve Oaks Veterinary Services put down roots in the Golden Triangle, seeing horses, small animals and the occasional exotic animal and farm animal. Her education consists of: Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science and Technology 2008, University of Maryland, College Park; Bachelor of Arts in Biology 2012, Hartwick College; Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 2016, Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine; Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist 2017, The Chi Institute.
Dr. Snively received her small animal and equine acupuncture certification from the Chi Institute in 2017. This training allowed her to expand her practice to include acupuncture and herbal therapies to provide a fully integrated approach to medicine. While Western medicine provides a vast array of options, sometimes owners want an alternative or different approach for their pets. Sometimes Western medicine can’t provide an answer and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) is a fantastic tool to have in the proverbial medical toolbox. TCVM can treat unusual lameness, provide
adjunctive care for animals with metabolic disease, and improve quality of life for patients with non-surgical cancers, arthritis, and other diseases. Acupuncture, rehabilitation, and preventive medicine are Dr. Snively’s chief professional interests. In her spare time, Dr. Snively is an avid writer and singer. She enjoys working on her farm with her husband, Bryan, son, Wakem, seven horses, four rescue dogs, and cat. Dr. Snively has many years of experience practicing Reiki and is also an ordained minister through the Open Ministry.

Massage Therapist

Juan Corrigan, LMT #113
Juan states his philosophy in healing is that things are interconnected. While attending college for his bachelors and masters, he worked in the fitness field and physical therapy and learned how healing came from staying fit and rehabbing the injuries that came with life. Physical therapy opened the massage therapy world and that brought more awareness in how healing is performed. The body is designed to heal but it heals faster with mind and emotion working together. He is constantly learning how amazing our body is and when you actually start to know your awareness, things begin to change and miracles begin to happen.

Tawnya Blalock, CPC, ELI-MP: Life After Loss
Tawnya is a certified life coach specializing in transitions through loss and life changes. In her own journey, Tawnya has lost both parents, and her mother-in-law. Also, when she was only 40 years old, her husband of 18 years died very quickly following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Her twin sons were barely 15 years of age at the time of their father’s death.
She pushed her own grieving process aside to help her children through theirs, despite knowing how that can complicate grief, after her years of work in hospice, teaching and training Bereavement support. It took several years for her to find the time, energy, and help to process that painful loss. She was a widow for over 10 years when she happily met and married her second husband, five years ago. Tawnya accepts new clients though her own business at Lifehouse Coaching and facilitates a private Facebook group for people going through their own loss journey. She is excited about joining with Soulflower Healing Arts Studio to bring a twice-monthly support group to this area. All who are going through any type of loss are welcome, and encouraged, to come and share their story in a safe, supportive, place.

Hunter Smith: Artist in Residence
In an increasingly intangible and impersonal world, the handmade challenges us to think, feel, and connect. It is the subtle variations and human irregularities of such objects that intrigue and attract. In truth, I feel that beauty is sometimes more a product of what is “imperfect” than what is “perfect.” My interest in clay is rooted in my love of tactility and the hope that I might better understand perfect imperfection.
I particularly enjoy making functional work because these pieces are meant to be handled and interacted with - having the potential to become an intimate part of someone’s day to day life. It is my belief that a well made cup or bowl can transform something as seemingly mundane as a simple meal or coffee break into something more ritual and meaningful.
